Before your tandem flight, the pilot will give you an introduction to the area and the weather conditions of the day, and will then equip you for the flight.
Paragliding take-off is a smooth process. You leave the ground by flying almost flat or often directly upwards! Note that we do not say “jump” in paragliding, but “take off”! The expression “jump” is reserved for parachutists who jump from a plane.
A few steps are all it takes to inflate the canopy, followed by a few more to take off. You will quickly feel the glider carrying you. This is the magic moment, you have taken off!
In flight, you sit in front of the pilot, as if in an armchair. You can then admire the view by imagining yourself as a bird. You can take pictures. You will enjoy the feeling of freedom that paragliding gives with its 3 dimensional evolutions. If you wish, your pilot can perform sporty or even acrobatic manoeuvres! You will also have the possibility to fly yourself following the instructions of the pilot.
For the landing, you leave the “chair” position and stand upright again, legs down. A few metres above the ground, you start to run in the air to prepare yourself. A few steps will be enough to stop, but it will surely take you several minutes to get back in touch with life on earth!
