LIGHT gliders are often equipped with Soft-links (textile connectors) as standard.
These Soft-links are very strong and safe if properly fitted.
The problem is that they are difficult to handle. Replacing lines is very laborious, which makes maintenance work much more expensive. When checking or repairing, we charge an extra
CHF 50 if we have to open soft links.
The lightness gain of the Soft-links on a NIVIUK HOOK 5 P is 70 g.
This is the difference in weight between
● 8 Soft-links with elastic tape to hold the lines
● 8 stainless steel quick links with plastic line locks (the same as on the standard HOOK 5).
We can replace the soft links in your glider with Maillons. A “cross check” (correct fitting of the lines to the risers) should complete this work.
