What is a 2-lines ?
The A’s are grouped with the B’s (first line) and the C’s with the D’s (second line). The aim is to reduce the total length of the lines of the wing to reduce the drag and thus improve the performance!
As Patrick Lachat, a young (at the time) Falhawk pilot, reminded me, the Japanese brand had almost invented everything in 1988 with its ATHLETE model, where the A and B lines were grouped together.
The VOLT 4 S 2-line has a total of 216 m of lines, whereas a similar EN-C glider with 3 lines has more than 250 m.
