The “Maillons” are used to connect the lines to the risers of paragliders.
For our sport, only stainless steel Maillons are used.
In a larger format, they are used as a connection between elevators and a harness or spacers.
- Check that the Maillons are well closed and locked by a quarter turn (no more !) with a key or a clamp.
On some paragliders, the nuts of the Maillon that connect the lines to the risers are blocked by a plastic part that holds the lines in place. If this is the case, the nut of the link must be well screwed of course, but the quarter turn with a key is not necessary.
ATTENTION
An improperly closed link deforms. It can no longer be screwed properly and must be replaced.
