To reduce the weight of the equipment by a few tens of grams, Soft Links or Connects are used instead of carabiners to connect the lines to the risers on lightweight paragliders.
In a larger format, they are used as a connection between the risers and a lightweight harness.
Textile connectors are very strong. The tricky part is fitting them: check that they are fitted according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Incorrect assembly can reduce their strength by up to 90%!
In most cases, a “lark’s head” must be present! If the assembly seems simple and easy to redo, it is probably wrong!
