At ASAGIRI every new glider is flight tested before it is delivered!
We can test your glider in the same way.
Even if it was bought from a dealer who only knows how to cross out prices on an internet shop in the German part of Switzerland or even further away ! 🤣
Before taking off
We check the risers (seams) and all the fittings:
- closure of the links or soft-links
- condition of the pulleys and low friction rings
- presence and fitting of line blockers
- seams of the lower lines
We also control the leading edge:
- positioning of the rods
- A-line attachment seams
- line seams A
On inflation
In the absence of a strong enough laminar wind, little more can be done than to quickly control
- the assembly of the lines
- that there are no major sewing errors in the panels and ribs.
In flight
We have more time to observe the lines and the glider which reveals its internal structure in transparency.
We carefully check the following points:
- the assembly of the lines.
- that there are no errors in the sewing or assembly of the panels and ribs. It may happen that an element (such as a slanted rib) has not been sewn correctly.
- the length of the main brake lines, in the normal position and fully accelerated. The trailing edge must not be pulled when accelerating !
- we also test the minimum speed by going to the stall point.
- We make sure the glider is flying straight, with arms up and full throttle.
- we perform small collapses first, then more than 50% of the leading edge. On one side, then on the other. This way we make sure that the behaviour corresponds to the certification of the model.
- We perform a 360 (if the remaining altitude allows it !) and make sure that the exit’s behaviour corresponds to the model’s certification.
