Automatic buckles kit for AIR DESIGN SOCK

A creation of Eric Laforge who used this improvement more than a year before offering this finalized version: an swiss produced kit to assemble yourself by following the instructions below.

Kit consists of:

  • 1 piece | wooden handle hook tool
  • 2 pieces | COBRA female auto buckle with LIROS D-Pro ø 3 mm line made with blocked splices
  • 2 pieces | LIROS D-Pro ø 3 mm Block Spliced line + black reinforcement LIROS Grip Protect XTR
  • 1 piece | adjustable belly strap with 2 COBRA male auto buckles and anti-oblivion strap with plastic buckle 15 mm male
  • 1 piece | strap buckle with plastic buckle 15 mm female (for anti-oblivion)

The adjustment of the belly allows a gap between carabiner from 40 cm to 47 cm approximately.

Mounting this kit only increases the weight of the SOCK harness by 120 g.

The kit can be mounted without removing the belly strap. Once the assembly of the kit is validated, we can then cut the belly strap.

Certification

Your harness is not approved with this kit, but it is very solid!

  • The chosen buckles (COBRA AUSTRIALPIN) are those that are mounted original on many harnesses ADVANCE, NIVIUK, GIN, SUPAIR…
  • The 24 mm strap of the belly is used on many models of SUPAIR saddles.
  • The sewing thread is AMMAN ONYX 20 used for decades for the production of harnesses.
  • The lines are made of Dyneema LIROS D-Pro ø 3 mm which has a resistance of 950 kg. The assembly is made with blocked splices at both ends. The loop which goes through the belly strap is reinforced by a black LIROS Grip Protect XTR sheath.

Note :

In order for a harness to retain its certiffication, it must be regularly checked ! Who does it ??

So, if someone points out to you the loss of certification following the assembly of this kit, ask him if he had one of his harnesses serviced at least once in his life !

Remove the yellow/green strap on the right and also the red one on the left.

Position the halyard of the auto buckle in the carabiner by passing under the black strap.

Do the same on the other side.

Use the provided tool to pass the white loop of the thigh halyard into the thigh strap.

Make a lark head in the strap of the thigh strap.

Do the same on the other side

Use the provided tool to pass the black buckle of the thigh line into the loop of the belly strap that holds the buckle.

Pass the black loop of the thigh line around the buckle.

Form a lark head and stretch it out.

Do the same on the other side.

Beware the anti-oblivion strap must be on the left (red side) and it must pass through the black loop of the halyard before stretching the lark head !

Mount the black strap with the female plastic buckle in the red strap that closes the side of the speedbag/cocoon that contains the parachute container.

Make a lark head and stretch to put it in place.

The anti-oblivion strap with the male buckle goes through the red carabiner to close the speedbag/ pod.
